Artists
The prints of Tom Rudd and Margo McCafferty are created by the wood/
linoleum block reduction method. Using this process the artist creates a
multi color print with only one block of wood. After each color is printed
the block is further carved for the next color. Light colors are used first
which allows for creating additional colors through overlay. Because of
the demands in carving and careful printing such that colors do not
overlap generally only a small number of prints are pulled. Since the block
is further carved after each color is printed, once the artists determines how
manty prints will be pulled it is impossible to increase that number.
